i was thinkin abt all of my kids’ pokemon verses and i’m here to detail some rambly thoughts in excruciating detail
an image that gives me a feeling of raw joy is jacob being objectively the best trainer in the trio and aspiring to be a dragon master bc he just thinks they’re neat pokemon ! olivia thinks he should be trying to become champion like her because he’s so skilled and his team are so tough but he kind of … brushes it off ? i think maybe he’s a little too anxious to attempt something so huge at such a young age ; he lacks olivia’s confidence in his own ability . anyway by his seventh badge he has a charizard , kingdra , dragonite , and salamence —— but his goomy is … still a goomy . it seems anxious ? about evolving and jacob totally gets that !! he has an anxiety disorder too … so he’s very patient and careful not to put too much pressure on his lil slimy bud .
jacob is also the only kid going out of his way to seek out all the pokemon in each reason and fill the pokedex
olivia has random run ins with mystical legendary pokemon ALL THE TIME to the point meeting jirachi when lost in a cave is what she calls “ tuesday ” JASAJDASKFL . she has a particular soft spot for celebi who she’s only met once at the shrine in ilex forest
skye is absolutely going to be a coordinator and that’s that .
olivia lives in johto , jacob lives in kanto and skye lives in sinnoh , but they eventually all meet up at sinnoh and become the ultimate best friends travelling together trope . jacob and olivia knew each other beforehand , they’d been close when they were younger and both lived in kanto . they kept in touch when olivia moved . but they bumped into skye while at jubilife city and clicked with her very well !
they’re all ready to kick team rocket / team galactic ass at any given moment
olivia’s team definitely fight in a more brutal , headstrong way , while jacob’s team are more tactical in approach and skye’s move with grace and kind of hit you out of left field with how powerful they are because they’re such “cutesy” pokemon
U know what’s also good. That whole ‘sunshine character steals the heart of raincloud’ but instead, raincloud is the one who pursues sunshine character like
Sunshine character: *exists*
Raincloud: I want this one and no one else.
Another concept: Sunshine and Raincloud pining for eachother and both thinking “(other character) would never feel that way about me I’m their complete opposite”
anyway i was gonna write today but my boss asked me to come in later :/ so ! have a bunch of quick kidcanons i guess
olivia’s favorite classes are physical education and drama . both her teachers for those lessons like her a lot, if only because she actually applies herself and tries her best ! they absolutely Can’t Relate to her other teachers’ exasperation over the little brat .
however, olivia won’t audition for any class plays because of what happened with her nursery’s nativity when she was three .
olivia and jacob are as close as two friends can be . they’re both extremely comfortable with physical touch and more often than not will walk hand in hand, only slightly irritated should adults coo over it —— most kids don’t snicker so much since it’s become a kind of accepted norm for the two . they alternate between going to play on the football field (jacob’s worst nightmare) and hanging out in the library (olivia’s worst nightmare) at playtime .
olivia and skye became friends when the latter accidentally left her fluffy pencil case on the desk on her first day at school . she picked it up and decided to figure out who it belonged to and return it —— however, upon realizing how pretty her new classmate was, olivia was rendered completely speechless . the child flustered and all but threw it at skye before rushing away without so much as a ‘here you go!’ . after a solid 24 hours of feeling completely horrified with herself olivia went on to apologize the very next day . and that’s the stuff best friendship is made of ! skye graciously accepted and ate lunch with her and jacob the very same day, claiming that the look on olivia’s face was “ sort of priceless . ” she’s 100% abashed about it to this day .
despite the crushes definitely going on within the trio ( olivia > skye , jacob > olivia ) they’ve never really been a source of conflict . they’re more unspoken puppy crushes than anything that’d be acted on, outside of some tender moments that begin to inch across the lines of friendship .
olivia can go to jacob just about anytime she likes . in dire emergencies she’ll climb a ladder and burst into his room through the window before shaking him awake .
in the same breath, however, she’s terrified of him figuring out how she has to live. she refuses to invite him or skye over to the apartment for fear of how her father will react . when he’s beaten her she covers herself up carefully and twitches back from jacob’s touch for a couple of days , and doesn’t go around to play because she knows his mom is both sharp enough and cares enough to do the very thing that would make cassandra hate her forever —— tell .
olivia holds jacob’s hands to stop him signing when he’s telling her something she doesn’t want to hear —— gently enough that he can wrench free obviously, and it’s more playful than anything ? like covering someone’s mouth when they’re talking on and on . it’s usually when he’s fussing that they’ll get in trouble for doing x or his mom won’t let him do y !
skye’s mother isn’t particularly fond of olivia, deeming her rude, inconsiderate and an awful influence on her daughter . skye’s father likes her, believing her to be spirited, cocky and sweet ‘ in her own way ’ . he also likes her passion for drama class considering he’s an actor himself .
skye comes across quite airheaded at times, despite being so very curious about what’s going on around her .
olivia and jacob are prime examples of street smarts versus book smarts .
they all have very soft moments together outside of their reckless adventuring and exploring and general troublemaking . when they stay out playing until late they’ll stare up at the stars, with jacob signing about the constellations, skye resting her head on olivia’s shoulder, and olivia offering the boy her undivided attention —— something rare and undoubtedly very special. skye has taught them both how to make flower crowns and they all have lazy summer days playing in the fields within the too long grass and thick stretches of common flora .
olivia likes having her hair ruffled but skye would Physically Kill You if you messed up her pretty blonde locks . she likes having her cheeks squished and nose booped . jacob is all about big hugs and high fives and handholding .
the order of most smiley to least smiley kid goes skye > jacob > olivia .
skye loves animals ….. she’s tried going vegan at least three times, which both her friends thought was totally ridiculous . she’s NINE !! they were both very supportive but also sort of mocking . though she made valiant efforts, taking her to KFC quickly changed her mood all over again . she’s super dispirited by how weak she is for chicken .
they have so many groupchats to trash talk adults and get super mad if anyone tries to read over their shoulders . they also discuss plans to skip school and general antics upcoming
jacob can talk, but very rarely does . he’s selectively mute as a result of an anxiety disorder , and his father’s death ( though he can’t remember it much ) probably didn’t help matters . his mom offers gentle , patient encouragement to talk more —— he’s only comfortable enough to get out a few words in the company of his friends and his mother . even then he seems very unsure of himself .
and this is where you can put pretty much whatever you want in regards your your muse. or you. you can lay out what you want on this blog. how you want people to treat / react to your blog. pretty much whatever you want to say here and no one can stop you. as you can tell, this is just filler text. text to see how long this can get before it starts to scroll but also text so you know where you place things within the container of the popup. you can do whatever you want.
